Creating a NAT Gateway
You may need to create an NAT gateway, which is used for private subnets only, if it is not already configured for your VPC setup. See the steps for creating this resource using the VPC Dashboard in the AWS Management Console.
To create a NAT gateway in the AWS Management Console:

From the VPC Dashboard, click NAT gateways in the side navigation bar.

Click the Create NAT gateway button in the top right.

On the Create NAT gateway page, set the following:
a. (Optional) For Name, enter a name for your NAT gateway.
b. For Subnet, select the private subnet that you created.
c. For Connectivity type, select Private.

Click the Create NAT gateway button.
