Problem with support for ADBC in the Power BI connector for Dremio Software

In the July 2025 release of Power BI Service, Microsoft bundled a version of the Arrow Database Connectivity (ADBC) driver with a missing init function, which will cause existing reports to break. The exception could look like:

Container exited unexpectedly with code 0xC0000005.

Solution

Use a July 2025 version of Power BI Gateway

To restore support for ADBC with Power BI Service, install the July 2025 version of the Power BI Gateway.

Resolution Timeline

Microsoft has already received and verified the fix. We are expecting to have this fixed in Power BI Service by late July 2025.
