Tableau Server

Prerequisites

Dremio Tableau integration requires:

  • Tableau Server 9.3+
  • Install Dremio Connector (32-bit or 64-bit driver depending on Tableau Server)

Configuration

64-bit

Copy the .tdc file at: C:\Program Files\Dremio Connector\Resources\DremioConnector.tdc into
C:\Program Files\Tableau\Tableau Server\[version]\bin.

32-bit

Copy the .tdc file at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Dremio Connector \Resources\DremioConnector.tdc into
C:\Program Files (x86)\Tableau\Tableau Server\[version]\bin.

Publishing a Dremio Source to Tableau Server

  1. Create a new Tableau Data Source to connect to Dremio using Tableau Desktop and confirm it’s working as expected.

  2. From the Server menu, select Publish Data Source and pick the desired Dremio source. Configure as needed and publish the source.

  3. You can now query Dremio using Tableau Server.
